We use the name, Design by Plants, because we are students of plants. Plant communities are elegant examples of abundance, efficiency and simplicity, realizing more than 500 million years of evolutionary intelligence. They help shape the principles and ideals of our firm's work. We are architects, landscape designers, horticulturalists, builders, farmers, artists, ethnobotanists, and gardeners with a mission to help us live more abundantly with nature. Design by Plants brings together the life-long passions of John Seitz, an architect, garden builder and artisan and Anne Wiesen, an ethnobotanist, landscape designer, and herbalist. Working with us are a number of very talented construction and plant professionals.
