Raha's work with Design by Plants is supported by her graduate studies in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Illinois, where she concentrated in Food Systems and Community Development. Raha holds a Permaculture Design Certificate through The Center for Bioregional Living. She has also worked as a farmer at the Sustainable Student Farm on the University of Illinois campus. 

Outside of gardening, designing, and building sustainable spaces, Raha has a background as an artist, performer and dancemaker. She remains passionate about the city and about working towards urban spaces that are rich, vibrant and supportive for a diversity of humans, plants and animals.
